Miss Ghedia will start by asking you to explain what symptoms prompted you to seek an appointment and then examine you. There are some diagnostic tests that can be performed in clinic such as a hearing test and an endoscopic (camera) examination of the nose and or throat.

If you have wax or discharge in your ear, this may need to be cleaned. This is done with a ‘microsuction’ machine. It is a very tiny suction that is able to suction the contents of your ear canal. It can sound loud and can be minimally uncomfortable. Miss Ghedia has performed this procedure well over a thousand times.

This procedure can be very important to examine your nose and throat. Miss Ghedia has performed this well over a thousand times. It is not painful but can be uncomfortable. It does not take very long (20-60 seconds usually). You will be offered a numbing spray into the nose to help which usually lasts 20 minutes.

You will be asked to sit in a soundproof booth. You will have two types of headphones applied to test your hearing. You will need to respond when you hear a sound to indicate you can hear it. It is not uncomfortable but can require some concentration.

Miss Ghedia is able to organise scans, bloods tests, and allergy tests for you. These can be undertaken at The London Clinic and you will be given clear instructions of how to attend these.
